Global mobility
Mobility is not a plane ticket. The person needs a lawful basis to work, a tax position, and a package that states what is salary, what is allowance, and what is paid in which country.
In many of our markets the first country manager is an expatriate for a ramp, then the seat localises. The work-permit plan and the successor search should start in the same brief.

Questions we get
- Is a business visa enough to start work?
- No. A visitor or business visa is not employment. The person needs the work pass that country issues for the job they will actually do.

Work permit
The government authorisation a foreign national needs to be employed in that country. A business visa is not a work permit.
Local-plus package
A local employment contract with extra items on top — housing, schooling, a mobility allowance — rather than a full expatriate balance-sheet package.
Expatriate
A person sent to work in a country that is not their home employment market, usually on a work pass and a package that is not a pure local hire.
Local hire
Someone employed in the country of work as a local, on a local contract and local pay — not as an expatriate on a home-country package.
