Glossary/PTU (Mexico)

Pay

PTU (Mexico)

PTU is a share of the employer's profits, with statutory rules on who qualifies and how the pool is split. It is not a discretionary bonus. Our Mexico salary ranges exclude it, the same way they exclude Aguinaldo.

Budget it as a true cost of having employees in Mexico, especially in a profitable manufacturing or commercial entity.

The obligation follows the profit-sharing rules in the Federal Labour Law. New entities and loss-making years have specific treatments — confirm before you model year one.
