Recruit in Mexico

Monterrey is the centre of nearshoring demand, with plants in Apodaca, Santa Catarina and Garcia and a corridor running out to Saltillo and Ramos Arizpe. Automotive, appliance, electronics, metals and logistics employers compete for the same bilingual engineering and operations people, alongside the Bajio hubs of Queretaro and Guanajuato. Searches are hard because plant leaders receive several approaches a month, and English fluency plus IATF or FDA exposure cuts a long list very quickly.

We source by direct approach, with OCC and Computrabajo for volume roles and referrals from plant networks across Nuevo Leon. Screening is bilingual, interviews are online first and then a site visit in Monterrey. Mexico sets no statutory notice period, so candidates usually give two weeks and senior people thirty days. Pay is quoted as monthly gross; aguinaldo of at least fifteen days, profit sharing and IMSS sit on top. in-country employment can carry hires while the entity is registered.

Local vs expatriate

Who we shortlist

Nearly all of these roles go to Mexican nationals, many of them bilingual engineers from Tec de Monterrey or UANL. Expatriates appear mainly as start-up plant directors or technical transfers from the parent company. They need a temporary resident visa with permission to work, authorised by INM on a job offer from an employer holding an immigration registration.

Questions

FAQ

How long to a first shortlist?
Ten to fifteen working days for plant, supply chain and commercial roles in Monterrey. Regulatory and government relations searches take twenty to thirty days, since COFEPRIS-experienced candidates are concentrated in Mexico City and English screening removes part of the list.
Do you search local and expatriate candidates?
Both, though the balance is heavily local. Bilingual Mexican managers fill most positions. We add expatriates and Mexican-American candidates for greenfield plant start-ups, or when a parent company wants its own operating system installed, and we manage the INM timing.
Which roles do you run most often here?
Plant director, operations director, EHS manager and supply chain head for nearshoring manufacturers in Nuevo Leon and Coahuila, plant controller for their finance teams, and volume hiring of production operators, technicians and field sales for consumer businesses.
Can you run this as RPO as well as retained search?
Yes. RPO suits ramping plants that need hundreds of operators and technicians in Apodaca or Ramos Arizpe, plus customer-service agents and field sales. A country general manager, CFO or regulatory lead is better run as a single retained search.
