Recruit in Hong Kong
Hong Kong works as a regional headquarters and sourcing base rather than a manufacturing site. Hiring sits in banking and insurance on Hong Kong Island, trading and buying offices in Kowloon East and Tsim Sha Tsui, logistics around the airport and Tsing Yi, and family offices in Central. Searches are hard because the candidate pool shrank after years of emigration, salary expectations are high, and many mandates require Cantonese, Mandarin and English together.
We source by direct approach on LinkedIn and JobsDB, through alumni and professional networks, and by referral inside regional headquarters teams. Screening tests all three languages where the role covers mainland counterparties. Interviews are quick to arrange because candidates sit in the same time zone as most Asia leadership. Notice is commonly one to three months, longer for regulated finance roles. ArkTalents can employ a hire on an in-country employment basis and file MPF and tax returns before your Hong Kong company exists.

Who we shortlist
Finance, supply chain, regulatory and customer-facing roles are filled by Hong Kong permanent residents and returnees. Expatriates appear mainly in regional general manager and specialist banking posts. They need an Employment Visa under the General Employment Policy, or the Top Talent Pass Scheme, which lets qualifying candidates arrive without a sponsoring employer already in place.

Questions
FAQ
- How long to a first shortlist?
- Ten to fifteen working days for finance, supply chain and commercial roles. Add a week or two for licensed roles under the SFC or the Insurance Authority, and for trilingual mandates where Cantonese, Mandarin and written Chinese all have to be tested rather than assumed.
- Do you search local and expatriate candidates?
- Yes. Most shortlists are local permanent residents and returning Hong Kongers. We also present expatriates already holding a visa or eligible for the Top Talent Pass Scheme, and mainland candidates whose relocation is realistic given housing costs and schooling.
- Which roles do you run most often here?
- Regional finance heads and financial controllers, supply chain and sourcing directors for buying offices, regulatory leads taking medical devices and cosmetics into Greater China, and commercial directors for consumer brands. Volume work is mostly customer-service and insurance servicing teams.
- Can you run this as RPO as well as retained search?
- Yes. Retained search covers general manager, finance head and sourcing director appointments. RPO handles repeat volume such as customer-service agents, insurance servicing officers and retail field sales, where we run scheduled interview days rather than one-off searches.
