Recruit in Thailand

Foreign employers in Thailand split their hiring between Bangkok and the Eastern Economic Corridor. Bangkok holds country management, finance, commercial teams and shared-service centres. Rayong, Chonburi and Prachinburi hold the automotive, EV, electronics and chemicals plants, with Laem Chabang port alongside. The hard part is language: most senior candidates operate primarily in Thai, and the subset who can also present to a regional board in English is small, which slows every senior search.

ArkTalents sources through direct approach in Thai, referrals inside the Japanese, European and US manufacturer communities, and targeted work on local platforms rather than open advertising. Screening is bilingual, since written English often overstates spoken fluency. First interviews are online, final rounds in Bangkok or at the plant. Notice is commonly 30 days but senior people often carry 60 to 90 days. Where a client has no Thai entity, ArkTalents can hold the employment through in-country employment and manage payroll and social security contributions.

Local vs expatriate

Who we shortlist

Thai nationals fill almost all finance, EHS, regulatory, HR and sales roles. Expatriates appear mainly as country general managers, plant directors and technical heads at Japanese and European manufacturers. Expatriates need a Non-Immigrant B visa plus a work permit, with minimum salary levels set by nationality; BOI-promoted companies now also face Thai employment ratio and salary floor conditions that affect how many foreign hires a site can carry.

Questions

FAQ

How long to a first shortlist?
A first Thai shortlist usually lands in 15 to 22 working days. Searches slow down when the brief needs genuine English fluency alongside Thai, when a registered professional safety officer is required, or when the role sits at a specific Eastern Seaboard estate that limits the geographic pool.
Do you search local and expatriate candidates?
Yes. ArkTalents works Thai nationals first, then Thai returnees from Singapore, Japan and Australia, then expatriates where the technical brief requires it. For expatriates we confirm the nationality-linked minimum salary and the employer's Thai-to-foreign headcount ratio before presenting, particularly for BOI-promoted clients.
Which roles do you run most often here?
In Thailand ArkTalents most often runs plant directors and operations directors for Eastern Economic Corridor sites, supply chain heads for Laem Chabang flows, Thai FDA registration leads, safety and EHS managers with professional registration, and trade marketing managers for consumer businesses.
Can you run this as RPO as well as retained search?
Yes. RPO suits Thai volume hiring: production operators and line technicians for Rayong and Chonburi plants, bilingual customer-service agents for Bangkok centres, and field sales for provincial routes. A single senior appointment such as a country general manager or commercial director is better run as retained search.
