Recruit in Egypt
Egypt's hiring demand for foreign employers is concentrated in Greater Cairo, with manufacturing in 10th of Ramadan and 6th of October City, pharmaceutical plants around Badr City, and export operations in the Suez Canal Economic Zone at Ain Sokhna and East Port Said. Global business services cluster in Smart Village, Maadi and New Cairo. The difficulty is pay: after successive devaluations, senior candidates benchmark against Gulf offers and local ranges reprice every few months.
ArkTalents sources through direct approach, Arabic and English screening, referrals inside the industrial zones, and local boards alongside LinkedIn. Technical interviews are usually in Arabic with English used for group reporting lines. Notice periods run two months, three for long-service staff, so joining dates slip. Candidate assessment covers documented pay, since offers are quoted net as often as gross. Before a GAFI-registered entity exists, ArkTalents can employ staff through in-country employment and administer social insurance.

Who we shortlist
Almost every role here is filled by Egyptian nationals or returnees from the Gulf, which suits the rules: Labour Law 14 of 2025 and Decree 279 of 2025 cap foreign nationals at 10 percent of an establishment's headcount, with work permits issued by the labour ministry. Expatriates appear mainly as group-appointed general managers or short-term technical commissioning staff.

Questions
FAQ
- How long to a first shortlist?
- A first Egyptian shortlist usually lands in 12 to 22 working days. Country manager and Egyptian Drug Authority regulatory briefs run longer, and any role needing fluent English plus industrial depth narrows quickly once salary expectations are indexed to a moving exchange rate.
- Do you search local and expatriate candidates?
- Yes, though the practical answer in Egypt is local. ArkTalents targets Egyptian nationals in Cairo and Alexandria, plus Egyptian returnees from Saudi Arabia and the UAE who accept repatriation. Expatriate candidates are only presented where the 10 percent permit cap allows.
- Which roles do you run most often here?
- Plant director, operations director, supply chain head, regulatory lead and commercial director come up most often, driven by manufacturing in the Cairo industrial cities and by pharmaceutical and FMCG clients registering products with the Egyptian Drug Authority.
- Can you run this as RPO as well as retained search?
- Yes. ArkTalents runs RPO for high-volume intakes, including production operators in 10th of Ramadan, maintenance technicians, multilingual customer-service agents for Cairo service centres, and field sales headcount, while single leadership mandates are handled as retained search.
