Recruit in India
For foreign employers, India now means two hiring problems at once. Bengaluru holds the global capability centre build-out, with Whitefield, Electronic City and Outer Ring Road as the main clusters, and Hyderabad and Pune as alternatives. Manufacturing sits around Hosur, Chennai, Pune and the Gujarat corridor. The difficulty is counter-offers and competing offers: strong candidates in Bengaluru typically hold more than one live process, and long notice periods make the gap between offer and start date a real risk.
ArkTalents sources by direct approach into named competitor sites and GCCs rather than through job portals, which are noisy in India. English is the working language; Kannada, Hindi or Tamil matter for plant supervision and field sales. First interviews run online, final rounds in Bengaluru or at the plant. Notice periods of 60 to 90 days are normal and buyouts are common, so we manage the offer-to-join window actively. Where no Indian entity exists, ArkTalents can employ through in-country employment and run payroll with PF, ESI and gratuity provisioning.

Local vs expatriate
Who we shortlist
Indian nationals fill almost every role, including country general manager seats at most established multinationals; the domestic bench is deep. Expatriates appear mainly as technical directors or short-term plant commissioning leads. A foreign hire needs an Employment Visa, which requires a minimum annual salary of USD 25,000 and skilled-role justification, so the route is not available for mid-level or routine positions.

Questions
FAQ
- How long to a first shortlist?
- ArkTalents usually presents a first Indian shortlist in 15 to 22 working days. Government affairs, CDSCO or BIS registration leads and senior manufacturing heads run 20 to 30 days. Long notice periods do not delay the shortlist, but they do extend the time from offer to start date.
- Do you search local and expatriate candidates?
- Yes, though India is overwhelmingly a local-hire market. ArkTalents searches Indian nationals first, then returnees from the US, UK, Singapore and the Gulf, who are common in GCC leadership. Expatriate candidates are presented only where the Employment Visa salary threshold and skill test are clearly met.
- Which roles do you run most often here?
- The most frequent Indian briefs are operations directors and finance heads for Bengaluru global capability centres, plant directors for Hosur, Chennai and Pune sites, supply chain heads, regulatory leads for CDSCO, FSSAI or BIS filings, and national sales heads for distributor-led businesses.
- Can you run this as RPO as well as retained search?
- Yes. ArkTalents runs Indian RPO for large GCC and BPM intakes of customer-service agents, batch hiring of ITI and polytechnic technicians for plant ramp-ups, production operators, and city-by-city field sales teams. Single senior appointments such as a country general manager remain retained search.
